Southern Company Hiring for Coord Sr, Distribution Construction-Fiber at Atlanta, Georgia Full Time

*JOB SUMMARY: *

This Coord Sr, Distribution Construction position reports to the Fiber Strategy Development PM and is responsible for contract crews performing overhead/underground new construction maintenance trouble calls and storm response. This position is also responsible for joint trench installation and billing, overhead re-conducting, cable replacement, storm duty, the safety of service crews and their performance in various distribution areas across the state.

To be effective in this position, the incumbent must work well with and communicate with Distribution Engineering, Reliability, Automation, and other departments, internal and external customers, builders, developers, joint trench partners, electricians, claims, etc. This job will require an alternate work schedule to accomplish the listed responsibilities.

This is a hybrid/remote position.

Education

High School education or equivalent

Experience

• Extensive Distribution engineering and/or construction experience required: maintenance, overhead, and underground construction knowledge.

• Seven Years Distribution Experience.

• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel), Distribution Viewer, ARMS, CSS, TCMS, CATEE, CAMP and JETS preferred.

• Ability to analyze drawings, blueprints, specifications, proposals, and project documentation.

• Demonstrated Safety Excellence.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to manage contractors.

• Knowledgeable of the Southern Company Specifications and Distribution Bulletins

• Ability to learn the contracts and enforce them.

• Ability to effectively interact face to face with customers (includes Developers, Builders, Communication Companies)

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:    

Contractor Coordination

• Coordinate contract resources to ensure Fiber to Distribution project achieves Safety Excellence and quality goals.

• Coordinate contract resources to ensure Fiber to Distribution project achieves budgetary goals, productivity objectives, schedule targets, and customer satisfaction.

• Scheduling/planning contract work

• Attend pre-construction meetings

• Review work for quality control, inventory and project close out

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation for accuracy

• Schedule, plan, and attend pre-construction meetings.
