We are a boutique architecture practice with a reputation built on high quality work in both residential and commercial sectors. Our focus is on creative design solutions which are fitting for their context and considerate of the environment. We are a very friendly and collaborative team of five located in our Mana office, opposite the train station. While we’re a small team we get involved in a wide array of architectural work and like to make a difference in the built environment.

We are looking for an experienced Technician to grow our team and assist with some exciting upcoming projects including Wellingtons first mixed-use Living Building Challenge certified building.

This position will suit you if you have:

• At least five years experience working in architecture practice within New Zealand.

• A passion for enhancing the built environment with well considered construction and building system solutions.

• A thorough understanding of construction methods and high performance detailing, both residential and commercial.

• A strong knowledge of building compliance requirements, both residential and commercial.

• An excellent competency in Revit to produce documentation.

• Professional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• A passion for social and environmental design, including an understanding of The Living Building Challenge, Passivhaus, Homestar, Greenstar.

• A desire to continually learn and expand your knowledge.

We offer a friendly, small team environment with involvement in all aspects of architectural commission, flexibility in work hours and exposure to a wide range of projects and responsibilities.

You will primarily be responsible for taking a design concept and developing that design in collaboration with others to produce drawings and specifications detailed to a very high standard. However, you will juggle multiple projects at the same time, and your job will be varied including supporting others within the office, managing documentation and compliance processes, and liaising with clients, consultants, councils, and contractors throughout all phases of the project.
