Role:

Splunk is looking for highly motivated students to join our team for a 6 month part time internship in the first half of 2022. As an intern, you will work on a real project (or a few) and have an opportunity to enjoy our dynamic, startup-like environment.

You will experience Splunking and what defines our culture while honing the skills which separate our development teams from others. Working to support internal and external customer needs, you will collaborate across multi-functional teams. Our goal is both to support your growth and development, empowering you for a successful start to your career.

This role is open to students in your Final or Penultimate year of study in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field, and a strong record of academic achievement.

As a Software Engineer Intern you will…

• Implement major features identified through our program of work.
• Implement minor enhancements as requested by customers from requirements gathering through delivery.
• Investigate and implement fix to resolve product defects in the server components in an efficient and responsive manner.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across different locations including global engineering, support, escalation managers, and QA.

You have:

• Experience in C++ and python coding languages
• Experience with git
• Strong analytical mindset and experience debugging and troubleshooting including use of tools
• An understanding of network communication and protocols e.g. TCP/IP, HTTP would be a plus

You may have worked on:

• A project around the areas of big data, searching and statistical modelling
• An Internship at a software engineering company
• Maintenance of enterprise software
