SS&C Advent is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our Product Development Team out of our San Francisco office. In this role, you will be part of a highly talented, diverse team responsible for building new features and enhancing existing functionality for our cloud-based SaaS offering, Advent Market Data product. What You Will Get To Do

• Be a key contributor to the team by taking ownership of new and current features and components across the breadth of the solution.
• Successfully deliver high-quality features, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment for cloud-based services.
• Work with Product Managers to understand business requirements and translate these into robust technical designs.
• Work with the QA team to validate software functionality.
• Respond to escalations in a timely and effective manner.
• Actively participates in technical discussions with all levels.
• Documents and communicates feature implementation & design in Jira stories and in Confluence.
• Works collaboratively on projects with team members, following agile development practices.

What You Will Bring

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• 0 to 3 years of professional software development experience with a high-level programming language such as C#, Java, or Python
• Strong object-oriented design and coding skills
• Solid understanding of data structures and databases
• Experience or knowledge with any of the following is a plus:
• Web UI development, preferably Angular
• REST API Development
• Document and relational databases such as MongoDB and MS SQL
• Developing SaaS applications for the Public or Private Cloud
• Is able to think creatively and come up with elegant, simple solutions to complex problems
• A team player with a stellar can-do attitude is willing to do what it takes for the team to be successful
• Strong communication skills to present and discuss technical designs, problems, and functional features
• Willingness to collaborate across time zones. We have clients and team members all over the world, so it is necessary to be flexible when it comes to working hours when required.
• Effectively manages personal time and communicates plans and status of projects to stakeholders.

California: Salary range for the position: 90,000 USD to 110,000 USD. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.
