Stafford Recruitment Looking for Plant Operator at Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand Full Time

Our client operates a food processing plant in Timaru, and they have a fantastic opening on their team for a Plant Operator.

This role is responsible for operating a range of machinery, as well as general factory labouring tasks.

Core Duties Will Include

• Starting up the plant at the beginning of the day
• Operating machinery in a safe manner
• Ensuring the plant is running optimally throughout the day
• Continuously monitoring plant machinery, making adjustments,and resolving issues
• Reporting faults promptly
• Maintenance tasks such as stripping, cleaning, greasing and reassembly of machinery
• General labour tasks
• Forklift operation
• Shutting plant down at the end of the day

Full training will be given, however to succeed in this role, we are looking for candidates who have:

• Mechanical aptitude
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Exposure to factory processing environments
• Understanding of food hygiene practices
• Positive approach to workplace health and safety
• Forklift licence and/or forklift driving experience
• Good communication and team skills
• Reading, writing, numeracy skills
• Positive attitude in the workplace
