Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Water practice has an opportunity for a Water Resources Engineer-in-Training to join our team in Denver, Colorado.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Provide services associated with design, permitting, and construction of water resources projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support design and assessment of surface water systems and infrastructure.
• Communicate and collaborate with the project team.
• Perform GIS analyses to support engineering and technical services.
• Write documents summarizing work performed.
• Perform watershed planning studies to achieve flood reduction, water quality, and ecological benefits.
• Conduct assignments/projects with a high degree of initiative and independence.
• Complete tasks on schedule with pride and ownership of your work.
• Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
• Perform field work, assist with collecting data and gathering information to support project decisions.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Proficient with hydrologic and hydraulic models and ESRI ArcGIS.
• Detailed oriented and a work ethic to achieve high quality results.
• Experience in water and environmental projects.
• Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
• Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident preferred.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or similar from an ABET accredited program.
• One year of work experience and/or graduate degree in an engineering field from an ABET accredited program preferred.
• EIT preferred.
