VICTIMS SERVICES ADVOCATE
~JOB RESPONSIBILITIES~
Registration, Investigations, Notifications
Description: Team member successfully understands and accurately completes assignments pertaining to victim registration, protest investigations, victim notifications, attempting to locate victims, and processing of release information.
Support Duties and Outreach Initiatives
Description: Performs support duties, coordination, and outreach initiative relevant to victims and their families.
Liaison between victims and agencies
Description: Serve as a liaison and client/victim advocate between the clients/consumers/victims, staff members, other advocates, and service providers.
Processing Protest
Description: Logs and investigates protests from crime victims, their families, or the community regarding inmates and their potential release.
Provide Accurate Information
Description: Provides accurate information to crime victims and makes appropriate referrals.
Screens Information
Description: Screens customer information and makes an initial determination of potential eligibility for programs and services provided by the unit.
Determine statutory relevance
Description: Assesses and investigates correspondence, protests, and complaints to determine relevance to the unit’s statutory requirements.
Notification Accuracy
Description: Creates the correct documents and forwards victim correspondence and notifications.
Provides crisis intervention services for crime victims
Description: Provides crisis intervention services/communication for crime victims
Other duties as assigned

Associate’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
