The Child and Family Health Division within the Minnesota Department of Health is looking to add a Grant Manager to their growing team. This position will provide leadership, technical support, advanced professional interdisciplinary planning, project development and analytical work for the Sexual and Reproductive Health grant program.
Primary Job Duties:
Co-manage the Sexual and Reproductive Health grant program
Coordinate with programs internally and externally to the Department of Health for the prevention of unintended pregnancy, sexual and reproductive health, and promotion of family planning
Act as a subject matter expert across the Division and Agency for the family planning program, according to data and current best practices in the field
Support the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Section’s mission to provide statewide leadership and public health information essential for promoting, improving, and maintaining the health and well-being of women, children and families through Minnesota
Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications must be clearly demonstrated on the candidate’s resume and/or application.
Three (3) years of professional level experience in the following:
Planning, implementation, and administration in a public health program or related field
Grant management
Experience in family planning services, unintended pregnancy prevention best practices and/or counseling and education in reproductive health services or sexual health topics
Education Equivalencies:
Bachelor’s Degree = 1 year of professional level experience
Master’s Degree = 18 moths of professional level experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in public health or related field
Experience working with culturally diverse communities and Tribal nations
Experience applying knowledge of federal and state laws, rules and policy pertaining to the state and local family planning and other reproductive health programs
Knowledge of local, state, Tribal, and federal public health programs and planning activities conducted by other agencies sufficient to evaluate and interpret impact; and apply to program planning and technical assistance
Demonstrated project leadership and management skills necessary fto manage a public health program
Ability to apply critical analysis, problem-solving, priority-setting, conflict management, group facilitation and negotiation skills, and knowledge of public health to promote state/local partnership; and enhance local public health agency management and practice
