Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the student will work closely with the HR Team to assist in the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources Department. Applying organization and time management skills, you will successfully conduct various tasks.

What you’ll do:

• Assist with data entry, and input training documentation
• Set up, maintain, organize, and file relevant HR documents and files
• Digitize – scan paper documents to electronic files
• Update employee information
• Assist in answering employee questions and concerns and participate in departmental Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Complete checklist items for employee status changes and updates as required.
• Prepare new hire offer letters, notices, general employee memos, etc…
• Assist with new employee orientation sessions.
• Coordinate recruitment support activities, including drafting job postings on internal and external recruitment sites, and screening resumes.
• Assist in conducting phone interviews and first round with applicants
• Assist with general HR programs and initiatives
• Assist with the Temporary Foreign Worker program
• Other admin support as required

What you’ll need:

• Positive, outgoing personality
• Some experience in a similar role would be an asset
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• An ability to understand and adapt to the employment culture at Stubbe’s
• Very strong attention to detail and focus on data integrity
• Professional demeanour and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Demonstrate expert proficiency with MS Windows/MS Office Applications
• Ability to take the initiative and work independently
