Software Engineer – Customer Identity

• Work with our high performing Customer Identity Platform team
• Provide technical guidance to enable and deliver technical changes and meet business goals

About the role

Suncorp’s vision is to be the destination for the moments that matter. In Digital Identity, we provide agile and robust identity services to multiple Suncorp Brands across Australia and New Zealand. Working with our Technology and Business stakeholders, we help design the solutions to complex business problems across all Suncorp digital channels.

As part of the Identity API team, you will play an integral part in connecting customers and services across multiple brands and lines of business.

As a Software Engineer you will work alongside a team of Analysts, other Software Engineers and Automation Testers in an Agile team delivering high quality, shared service solutions enabling enterprise capability uplift. You will ensure delivery meets the standards set out for our Domain in both technical execution and the process and practices we follow. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects as well as support and maintenance of critical systems.

What you’ll do

• Analyse system requirements and develop technical design
• Develop and maintain application software to defined quality assurance standards
• Build quality into the software you develop, by providing high Unit and System Integration test coverage
• Follow Test-Driven Development principles and the test pyramid concept
• Support the application software by analysing and fixing problems
• Provide technical advice to the business customers on business opportunities
• Provide input to or develop business systems solutions, estimates and specifications

What you’ll bring

• Minimum of 3+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience with modern API technologies and practices including SpringBoot RESTful API development
• Experience with Java, Source control systems, Splunk, and collaboration tools
• Strong testing skills and Acceptance Test Driven Development or Behaviour Driven Development
• Experience supporting high availability production systems is highly desirable
• Strong programming skills including secure software development practices like threat modelling
• Experience in AWS Cloud Technologies such as SNS, SQS and Lambdas
