Position: Application/Database Developer – Managed Services

Sycomp, a leading provider of IT solutions, is expanding its Managed Services Team and is actively seeking a talented Application/Database Developer to join us in maintaining critical applications. This position presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, ensuring the smooth operation of existing applications with the potential for future development projects based on performance.

Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing support for existing applications, ensuring their reliability and performance within the Managed Services framework.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, debug, and address issues in the application codebase.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Implement enhancements and improvements to optimize application functionality based on user feedback.
• Assist in developing and executing maintenance procedures for application and database systems.
• Collaborate with team members to document and update system configurations and processes.

Opportunity for Future Development:

• Demonstrate exceptional performance in maintaining applications within the Managed Services scope to be considered for involvement in future development projects.
• Participate in team discussions and contribute innovative ideas for improving existing applications and proposing new development opportunities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a Developer, with a focus on application maintenance and support.
• Strong proficiency in Python, C#, and Java applications and scripts.
• Experience with MongoDB, MySQL, or other database systems.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Knowledge of software development best practices and design patterns.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Managed Services Framework:

• The role primarily involves maintaining and supporting existing applications within the Managed Services framework, providing stability and reliability to our clients.
• Performance in this role may lead to opportunities for participation in future development projects.
