Frontend Engineer

Reporting to our Lead Frontend Engineer, you’ll be a part of an intimate frontend team that builds both the consumer facing products used by our global audience and the internal tools used by our team and partners. As we strategically grow with Michelin our project pipeline is evolving in ambitiousness and complexity. The ideal frontend engineer has experience working on a React webapp (or similar) in a production environment. We’re a flat team offering ownership, autonomy, and personal collaboration (design, development, project management, product management) throughout the organization.

Having completed a React migration we’re in a great position to tackle optimization while we bring next generation features to market. The next big objective of the team will be implementing the Next.js framework as a replacement for our client side React application. Writing clean, testable, and performant code is a necessity in order to scale our technology platform. Our ideal candidate holds an overarching understanding of computer science fundamentals coupled with an adamant interest in frontend best practices and industry trends.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience building interfaces with react.js and next.js
• Experience with responsive design and UX coupled with an eye for design
• Experience with async development and restful architectures
• Experience or familiarity with build pipeline tools and package managers such as yarn, npm, and webpack

Nice To Have

• Unit-testing experience
• Experience with node.js
• Experience with localization
• Experience following WCAG standards and semantic HTML5 to create an accessible site
• Experience using Headless CMS systems

This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in our New York City office.

$110 – 125k Annual salary based on experience
