About the role

The position as a Community Relations Advisor comes with the opportunity to be part of transforming Tauranga in a substantial way, where you can make a difference which is a once in a lifetime journey.

Key elements of this position will include:

• Contributing to the development and validity of the community relationship database and community engagement calendar
• Providing support for community panels and liaison groups with a joined-up approach that enhance connections between TCC and its communities.
• Supporting the Strategic Community Relations Advisors (SCRA’s) to guide internal and external clients on community relations – including Te Pou Takawaenga, CPAD and the CCOs, key stakeholders and Elected Members/Commissioners.

What you’ll need to succeed

Your experience as a Community Relations Advisor will require you to have the ability to see the “big picture” and how it all connects, then communicate this in an impactful way to the community.

A relevant qualification in a Communications related field is required, plus experience in working within multiple cultural and diverse groups including iwi. Proven experience of digital communication and how they can be used in conjunction with non-digital channels.
