Salary Band – $51,770– $61,540 p.a prorata + Kiwisaver

• Permanent, 0.5 FTE position is available (20 hours per week)

Are you looking for a new challenge? Could you be interested in working for the Nursing Resource Unit in Dunedin Hospital? We are inviting applications for a fabulous Health Care Assistant to join us on a permanent, part-time basis.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

The Nursing Resource Unit has the unique benefit of being able to offer you real variety in your workplace. You would get to see the ins and outs of the whole hospital, where each day will be based in a different environment.

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be involved in:

• Supporting our nurses and other members of the health care team
• Patient supervision and/or movement
• Patient cares, as required
• Stock reconciliation
• Ward maintenance
• Patient watch, with one on one care as required

Becoming a Healthcare assistant in the health sector is a great opportunity to

We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with previous health care experience, and from those who are dynamic, friendly and can demonstrate a high level of initiative. You will be committed to high standards of practice, be well organised and have excellent communication skills.

It is important that candidates are motivated, flexible, have a level of maturity about them and of course plenty of enthusiasm. Experience working with people in a caring capacity is also essential, whether than experience is gained from within a professional environment, or from caring for children or family members. All roles in our service include rostered rotating shifts 24/7 – incl. night shifts.

Utu whānui | Salary range

This role belongs to the NZNO Nursing & Midwifery Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($51,770 p.a pro rata) and Step 5 ($61,540 p.a pro rata) .
