Title and Records Researcher – Part Time (Los Angeles County)

Job Description: TechLaw is seeking a part time Title and Records Researcher with 2-5 years of experience in title research. In this position the right candidate will be performing title research and conducting public record reviews online as well as at California State and Los Angeles County agencies.

Work may include:

• Visiting County clerk and assessor’s offices to identify the ownership history of specific parcels of land.
• Visiting State and County Agencies’ offices to copy records as tasked.
• Examining documentation such as deed, mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements to verify factors such as properties’ legal descriptions, ownership, or restrictions.
• Copying recorded documents, such as deeds, liens, mortgages, trust deeds, and contracts that affect property titles.
• Obtaining maps or drawings delineating properties from county surveyors or assessors’ offices.

Salary Range: $40 – $50 per hour DOE

Anticipated Work Schedule: 15-20 hours per week

Required Qualifications:

• 2-5 years title research experience
• Excellent reading comprehension
• Strong ability to multi-task
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong computer, software and internet skills
• Ability to work independently and yet be team oriented
• Ability to scan documents and upload to company server
