About Your Role

The Graduate Software Engineer position sits within our AVS (Avionics) business unit at Rydalmere. AVS provides training and simulation solutions to defence for air, land and sea platforms, and avionics systems for the MRH-90 and ARH helicopters. AVS also provides through life support for its solutions. The AVS – Training & Simulation Software team provides support to both the AVS business lines in the areas of Requirements Engineering, Software Architecture, Software Design, Software Engineering and ValidationPerform preliminary and detailed software design on solution components as assigned and guided by the Simulation Solutions Engineering Manager or Software Team Leader.

The Graduate Software Engineer is responsible for.

• Performing preliminary and detailed software design.
• Implementing approved software designs in Java / C++ /C# / Python
• Participating in code inspections.
• Performing informal and formal testing.
• Participating in software process improvement activities.
• Preparing formal test plans and procedures.
• Advising on informal testing requirements.
• Participating in technical review meetings as required.
• Performing time management for their allocated tasks.
• Participating in software process improvement activities.

How About You?

• Software project design and development experience
• Experience in one or more of the following coding languages – Java, C, C++, C#, Python
• Experience with JavaScript/NodeJS or TypeScript or similar web development languages

• Agile development environment
• Full Web Stack development
• Distributed Systems
• Real Time Systems
• Configuring TCP/IP and/or networking hardware
• HTTP protocols such as REST and STOMP

• Containerisation platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle
• Games Engines and Game Development
• User Experience (UX) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) Design
• Cloud solution deployment and orchestration
