Location: Remote work arrangement within Canada
The economic forecasting team develops regional and industry economic forecasts to help our customers understand and anticipate the short and long-term trends in Canada. The Conference Board of Canada is widely recognized for its expertise in economic forecasting, modeling, and analysis.
Our Ideal Candidate brings a solid understanding of applied economics, strong programming skills, and advanced written and oral communications. To be successful in this position you will display mature judgment, are committed to high quality work, and can work effectively and independently in a professional team environment. The successful candidate will work on forecasting products within a team of economists. You will be responsible for monitoring economic developments and assisting with the maintenance of models and programs used in the forecasting exercise. Under minimum supervision, you will generate the forecast and write reports detailing the assumptions underpinning the forecasts
We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office in Canada. To be successful as a remote worker you need to have a self-starter attitude, possess strong organizational and time management skills and be a proactive communicator.
