We now have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and self- motivated individual to join our dedicated team as HR Adviser. Under the direction of the Country Manager, you will assist in the provision of professional advice and guidance to support the operational needs of the charity through the consistent implementation, and delivery of people strategies, policies, procedures and programmes to all employees and volunteers within Ireland. You will work closely with the UK People Team (HR), finding effective solutions to improve the HR service across the whole charity, ensuring that operational HR expertise, advice and support is consistent and equable, and compliant with current legislation and best practice.
Working closely with the Country Manager, you will ensure people activities at all stages of the employee life cycle – including succession planning, absence management and employee development – are effectively aligned to our organisational culture. With the proven ability to establish, build and maintain successful professional partnerships with relevant stakeholders, you will act as a point of contact for managers and employees, advising and guiding on capability and performance management, and disciplinary, absence, health, wellbeing and leave matters, at all times supporting the promotion of good employee relations.
A CIPD qualification (or equivalent expertise through study and experience), together with a comprehensive working knowledge and experience of employment law and HR practices and experience of managing complex employee relations and performance management issues, is essential, as are excellent communication, literacy, numeracy, and IT communication skills. Previous experience of being part of a successful people function in an international context, together with supervisory and job evaluation experience, and evidence of continuing commitment to self-development, is desirable.
This role is considered to be a superb opportunity for an HR administrator, or similar, to develop their career in Human Resources. If you feel you have the qualifications, skills and experience to fulfil this varied, rewarding and vital role, and would like to be an integral part of the evolving programme of change taking place within the charity, we would love to hear from you. This is a part-time, permanent contract working 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday. We are happy to consider working patterns of 30 hours across 4 or 5 days. The post-holder will be working principally from home, but flexibility will be required for occasional on-site working.
