The Hazelton Hotel Looking for Sales Manager at Toronto , Ontario Full Time

This position is accountable for contracting transient and/or group business and converting high potential key prospects from all identified market segments. To assist in the Sales directive by establishing a base of key accounts predominantly within the North American and International marketplace. 

Responsibilities:

• Determine and recommend prospective customers from market information/resources develop and maintain prospecting list
• Solicit group, transient and small meeting business through telemarketing, networking, hotel site inspections and execution of Sales and Marketing Action Plan
• To be proactive in selling strategies aimed at the high end executive and leisure traveler
• Efficiently and professionally co-ordinate customer needs and requirements
• Within established parameters, quote and negotiate prices, confirming by written proposals and contracts
• Upon closing, coordinate and follow up with other hotel departments to ensure delivery of expected client services
• Independently responsible for achievement of objectives as outlined in the Action Plan
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required
•  As directed by the DOS, assist with the compilation of competitive intelligence information
• As directed by the DOS, participate in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade related organizations
• As directed by the DOS, actively participate in prescribed sales training
• To demonstrate discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information

Qualifications:

• Hotel Management degree with minimum 3 years of hotel sales and/or equivalent industry experience.
• Exceptional communication skills with senior level business professionals
• Excellent interpersonal & organization skills
• Word and Excel, computer literacy required (Micros Opera and Sales and Catering Software experience a strong asset)
