Accounting Specialist/Payroll Assistant

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Payroll Specialist/Accounting Assistant is a support position for the Payroll Administrator and Controller. This position involves processing weekly union and non-union payroll, preparing union reporting, completing monthly/quarterly/annual tax returns, processing and/or recording transactions related to accounts payable, prepaid and accrued expenses, fixed assets, and job cost, and reconciliation of bank statements.

In this role, you will:

• Weekly Payroll Processing
• Time entry, balancing, and reporting
• Federal/State/Local Tax reporting
• Garnishment, Levy, and Child Support reporting
• Certified Payroll reporting
• Expense reimbursements
• Assist with inquiries from employees regarding payroll issues
• Accounts Payable Data Entry and Processing
• Obtain invoice approval
• Entry of invoices into accounting system
• Disburse checks to vendors
• Assist with inquiries from Project Managers and Vendors
• General Accounting
• Other duties as assigned or required

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The right candidate will be a self-motivated individual that has a strong attention to detail.

· Ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in accounting, finance

· Candidates with 3 to 5 years’ experience in payroll, payroll taxes.

· Dependability and confidentiality (confidentiality of financial and/or other

information acquired in the course of work) are a must

· Collaborative – Respectful of others, understands the value of teamwork

Previous construction industry and union payroll experience are a plus

Pay: $45,000.00 – $54,000.00 per year
