Change your career, change lives.
The Open University is the UK’s largest university, a world leader in flexible part-time education combining a mission to widen access to higher education with research excellence, transforming lives through education.
The role
We are looking for some highly motivated Study Advisors to support learners on our professional development courses, Microcredentials. Aimed at professionals wishing to develop their career, microcredentials are online courses specially designed to provide an opportunity for individuals looking to change career, progress within their existing career, or respond to rapid changes and demands for new skills, as their industry evolves. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a new Open University venture in supporting the delivery of these courses.
As a Study Advisor on a microcredential, you will mentor learners with a variety of backgrounds, using your teaching or professional experience to support an entire cohort of learners to achieve success. Your background as a tutor in higher education or as an industry professional will ensure that the learners are receiving an enriched online experience.
Study Advisors will support learners on microcredentials which are delivered on the FutureLearn platform. All support is provided online via the course website. Study Advisors will answer questions, provide advice and support, point to relevant resources and help learners appropriately. As a study advisor, you will support learners by contributing to the discussions that take place at regular intervals during the course presentation. The role will therefore require continued engagement throughout.
