We have partnered with a local church located in Columbus, Georgia who is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join a successful and growing team.

As the Administrative Assistant, in this position you will be responsible for assisting the pastor with daily activities. This is a temporary to permanent placement with the opportunity for growth that will allow you to enhance your career while gaining valuable experience and providing services to those within the community with the greatest need. What you will do:

• Maintain church and Pastor’s calendars.
• Set appointments for the pastor
• Compose and send emails
• Schedule civic and community events
• Create Sunday Announcements using PowerPoint
• Greet visitors
• Assist with distributing community resource information
• Copy documents and submit to Benevolence Ministry
• Print flyers and/or attach to member E-blasts / Create flyers
• Contact other ministers in the area for collaboration with pastor
• Send bereavement announcements via email
• Send letters of condolence and resolutions to funeral homes
• Receive paperwork for room reservations, event details
• Inventory office supplies
• Update member information in church database, email contacts and Calling Post
• Coordinate weekly Calling Post with Pastor
• Send quarterly Articles of Faith and Hymns to media ministry

Essential Functions:

• Answer phones and take messages using a multi-line phone
• Keeping up with pastor’s schedule of all appointments for the current day
• Set up Zoom meetings and send links to members
• Update member information in church database, email contacts and Calling Post
• This position entails normal physical requirements–that is the ability to see, speak clearly, and hear. No extensive lifting, stooping, bending, carrying, or climbing is required.
• Inform pastor of any problems regarding scheduling.

What you need:

• Minimum 1 – 3 years of office experience Administrative Assistant preferred.
• Computer experience required
• Ability to calmly make decisions based on urgency of the situation and in accordance with work procedures and church policies. Must maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
• Must be dependable and punctual and maintain an excellent attendance record.
