As the national education landscape evolves, our Diocesan Education Service (DES) will also need to change to ensure it is fit for the future. As a result, DES are looking to recruit a Director of Education Services who will be responsible for this transformation; building on the strengths and experience of the DES whilst working in collaboration with the Directors, Governors, MAC and School Leaders to ensure the fulfilment of our mission and vision.
The Archdiocese of Birmingham is geographically the largest Diocese in England and has 237 schools within its boundaries. This is just over 11% of the 2122 Catholic schools in England, with 198 primary schools, 35 secondary, three first schools and one middle school. There are over 86,000 pupils across the 237 schools.

The new Director will be a faithful practising Catholic with a clear insight and commitment to Catholic education. They will bring key skills to help unfold our vision into the reality of our schools.
