The Department

Our team includes Development and Alumni Relations personnel and a range of staff to support them to connect and engage with alumni and donors.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are seeking a Digital Content Producer to provide engaging, dynamic and authentic digital content that showcases our fundraising and engagement activities. You’ll be a digital content expert, with experience in the areas of video shooting and editing, social media asset creation, planning and executing email direct messaging (EDM) campaigns and digital marketing.
You will split your time between digital content creation, which includes short videos and compelling posts and general email marketing activities, website updates and digital support for our events and fundraising teams, so ideally, you will have a background as a social media content coordinator or marketing creative with a passion for engaging content creation and short-form/video-based posting.
This is an opportunity for someone who has a good depth of digital posting experience whilst being comfortable using marking tools such as Canva to help us connect and engage our philanthropic partners and donors, whose generosity has a transformative effect on research, teaching and learning at the University.
This is a Digital storytelling role which will challenge you to engage our audience across email, social and digital platforms. You will make a difference by using your social media savvy for social good, raising money to support life changing research, student scholarships and more in a flexible working environment.
For more detailed information, please refer to the Position Description.
Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team
You will be directly line managed and supported by our Digital Engagement Manager and work closely with our Communications Manager and their specialist content writer. These will be your direct colleagues. You will also tap into the University’s large network of marketing professionals to share ideas and ways of working.
Our aim is to build long-term mutually-beneficial relationships with alumni and donors. These relationships will lead to contributions of philanthropic funds, expertise, and advocacy that will help the University of Auckland to play its part in developing knowledge and people for the good of Auckland, New Zealand, and the global community.
He kōrero mōu | About you
To be considered for the role you will need a Bachelor’s degree or relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or another relevant field as well as experience as a content writer or digital marketing creator/coordinator.
You will thrive in this role if you excel at creating compelling and engaging content across multiple digital formats. As a digital content optimiser, you will be familiar with digital media channels and analysis tools and of course, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills.
We are seeking 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role with the ability to provide examples of your own digital publications such as professional social media posts and short compelling videos. With that said, we are open to considering applicants with less experience, potentially as a marketing coordinator or something similar, but you will need to be able to demonstrate your passion and genuine interest in digital marketing.
As part of your application we would like you to share some strong examples of engaging content you have created, and to demonstrate an inherent understanding of how to engage a multi-faceted audience across digital channels.
