What impact will you make?
As the Director Marketing Communications, you will develop and implement the long-term marketing communication vision for the ThermoFisher Patheon CDMO brand. You will conduct market assessments, plan, develop, implement and revise external marketing communications programs. Your scope includes brand management, advertising, social and event marketing programs aligned with the overall global marketing strategy and budget. You will direct the efforts of the marketing communications staff and engage at strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the global marketing team and collaborators to ensure cohesive communications strategies and tactics support growth objectives.
What will you do?
Reflect, articulate, and promote the mission, vision and brand identity for Pharma Services (PSG) group; ensure all communications adhere to brand standards
Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a communications strategy that will improve the PSG brand image, reputation and position within the marketplace
Lead a team to develop brand, event, media and social strategies and tactical execution plans using a best-practices framework. Identify, attract, motivate, develop and retain outstanding talent.
Lead the strategic and creative design of PSG marketing communications channels including advertising, website, social media, video production, live and virtual events, and client presentations.
Stay current on marketing trends, strategy and tools
Facilitate the management and maintenance of marketing communications resources, including digital capability tools and content management system
Conduct relevant market research to measure brand reputation, monitors trends and adjusts the brand strategy as appropriate; use this market information to operate with initiative and innovation.
Align divisional PSG strategy with corporate and cross-divisional Thermo Fisher Scientific marketing initiatives
Accountable for forecasting, measuring, analyzing and reporting on the impact of all marketing communications dept programs. Ensure adherence to operating budget. Oversee process execution and optimization.
Evaluate, select and manage vendors; lead multiple projects in a dynamic, high-accountability environment
Coordinate media interest in PSG and ensures regular contact with target media, editorial boards, press and appropriate response to media requests in collaboration with Corporate Communications
Collaborates with the digital marketing director to ensure on-deadline execution of marketing tactics
Lead special projects as assigned, including special events, integration, rebranding efforts
How will you get there?
Education:
Experience, knowledge, skills, abilities:
Eight to ten years marketing experience, preferably in a contract drug manufacturing, contract research organization, pharmaceutical, healthcare or other technical field.
Experience leading a distributed team and shared services function
Experience translating business capabilities and technical information into clear, concise and compelling positioning and marketing collateral.
Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and supporting multiple stakeholder groups simultaneously.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously to consistently meet goals and achieve budget.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Excellent writing, positioning, messaging and collateral development skills.
Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to clearly define problems, collect relevant and credible data, establish facts, and draw value-based conclusions.
Ability to inspire and cultivate innovation, and team effectiveness.
Ability to problem solve, collaborate and influence across globally matrixed teams.
Confidence and composure to advocate for advancement of marketing initiatives.
Ability to travel as needed (up to 20%)
Ability to drive functional, technical and operational excellence.
