PROCESS WORKER

Reports to: Process Supervisor

Position Location: East Tamaki, Auckland

Number of Direct Reports: 0

How you’ll make an impact: You will be checking and packing product manufactured at the East Tamaki site to the highest quality standards to meet the needs of our customers in the medical, research, food and environmental testing industry

What will you do?

• Pack product as instructed on assembly and production orders
• Operate in a safe manner by following Thermo Fisher Scientific Safety Policy and Procedures
• Perform visual quality checks on all product as it is packed
• Identification of rejects and separation from good product
• Use hold labels to segregate product which is not to specification
• Complete escort cards and move product into the warehouse
• Record information accurately
• Maintain good house-keeping and follow management standards
• Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and follow Thermo Fisher Scientific safety policies and instructions
• Participate in practical process improvement projects
• Work within Thermo Fisher Scientific Policies and Quality Management Systems
• Other duties as directed by Business Management

If you are nominated to do Quality Control checks, in addition to the above, you will do the following:

• Collect QC samples hourly
• Check against product specification
• Record on QC sheets any problems and notify die setter to correct
• Place product on hold that is out of specification and advise process Supervisor /QA Manager
• Retain QC samples labelled with time and date

How will you get here?

Experience:

Previous experience within the manufacturing industry performing process or assembly work would be an advantage. Or alternatively you may have experience as a cleaner, hotel service positions or similar where the position has needed you to perform manual work and time management to meet deadlines. You will need to have the ability to work in an organised and safe way and following processes to meet production requirements in a fast paced environment.
