The General Mechanic performs maintenance and repairs at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and must be able to work safely and under cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) rules and procedures.What will you do?* Perform building maintenance activities such as replacing or repairing ceilings, flooring, walls, restroom fixtures, insulating, painting, and other general maintenance activities.* Perform minor plumbing repairs, leaks, and clogged drains.* Replace lamps (light bulbs replacement) clean electrical cabinets and electrical rooms. * Perform filter replacement and general cleaning and maintenance of air handlers and other mechanical equipment.* Respond to Customer requests, may hang white boards, window blinds, prepare and affix tags and labels.* Erect scaffolding, dismantle, transport.* Work in accordance with established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and site cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) as per CFR 21.* Document conditions, actions, procedures and results of work, tests or inspections performed as required by Company policies and procedures.* Document work performed on production equipment by maintaining accurate records or logs.* Follow federal state, and local codes. * Assist in creating job plans, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and MOPs (Methods of Procedure).* Ability and willingness to work rotational shift, if necessary, including days, evenings and nights as well as overtime, weekends and holidays as required.* Assist commissioning and startup of new equipment.* Assist with the training of other employees as directed.* Performs other duties as assigned.How will you get here?Education* High School Graduate (or equivalent) required.Experience* 4 Years of related experience in a manufacturing plant maintenance shop or AS Technical Degree/Certification with 2 year related experience* General trades’ knowledge: i.e. construction, electrical, machine shop, etc.
