Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Location: Christchurch
Reporting To: Quality Supervisor
How will you make an impact?
You’ll be part of a friendly and dynamic team that supports our customers in the development of life changing drugs and vaccines. In this role, you will be supporting the Quality Control function in performing testing and release of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate quality control documentation (SOP’s, Standard Forms) including writing, reviewing and updating of documents.
- Communicate effectively across departments and internal customers.
- Perform QC analyses and associated tasks as per standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings
- Day to day upkeep of equipment such as calibrations and monitoring as well as general laboratory housekeeping.
- Recording and analyzing data in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
- Microbiology: perform environmental monitoring of facilities and utilities. Perform routine water monitoring. These include but not limited to bacterial counts and fungal counts.
- Ordering and maintain stock and resources and ensuring correct storage conditions for samples and chemicals
- Perform calibrations on various QC and Production equipment types as per the preventive maintenance system in a timely manner. Report results and conduct the necessary investigations if required.
- Conducting and supporting investigations
- Review and process deviations, non-conforming product and corrective actions.
- Complete other activities that support maintaining and operating the Quality System.
- Conceive and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Observe all safety rules which are established to maintain safe work practices, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct proactive hazard identification and report any accidents, incidents and near misses.
- Contribute to process improvement.
How will you get here?
Education
- Tertiary Science qualification
Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience working in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of quality control laboratory methods, quality assurance methods, and regularly compliance standards including ISO9001 and general cGMP requirements.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, database applications.
