Tower Hamlets has one of the most economically and socially diverse communities in the UK. Here at Idea Stores, we provide a unique combination of adult learning, library and information services. We are looking for enthusiastic ESOL tutors to join our innovative and dynamic team and teach across a range of levels in our well-equipped stores with purpose-built classrooms. You will teach on a range of accredited and non-accredited programmes with learners working towards ESOL qualifications as well as Outreach programmes which support learners into work and further study.

Key Responsibilities

• You will provide high quality teaching, learning and support for learners in the Post-19 education sector for Tower Hamlets Council.
• You will be responsible for delivering excellent teaching and learning on a range of accredited (Ascentis) and RARPA assessed ESOL programmes across the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
• You will assist the Curriculum Managers to develop courses, schemes of work and assessment strategies which meet the wide-ranging needs of learners across the borough.

Requirements

Successful applicants will hold a subject specialism in ESOL (at level 5 or above) and hold or be willing to work towards a PGCE (or equivalent teaching qualification).

Knowledge and experience of teaching mixed ability groups as well as knowledge and understanding of current best practice in teaching and learning is essential.

This post requires an enhanced DBS and the ability to work flexibly (including one or two evenings a week) as required.
