Trace Systems Software Engineers analyze, design, and develop computer software required to support hardware or technical service products. The successful candidate will review system architecture, and select and implement appropriate development and support tools to ensure product performance, as well as test and debug related software. We are focused on providing our customers expertise to leverage their existing software and create new capabilities.

• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.

• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

• Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities, certifications and professional organizations.

• Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users & engineering team; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; implementing and following the software development lifecycle.

• Based on level of experience, guide software developers and the engineers through optimized software solutions development, including requirements management, coding, testing, security hardening, documentation, quality assurance, enterprise sustainment and lifecycle configuration management solutions.

• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution or 3+ years of experience in similar role

• 2+ years professional experience with one or more of the following;

• Java development in a Linux environment

• Big Data Store/NoSQL (HBase, CloudBase/Acumulo, Big Table, MapReduce)

• Cloud HDFS (Hadoop)

• Software configuration Management Tools (JIRA, GIT, Confluence, Agile Methodologies)

• Serialization such as JSON or BSON

• Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph or CI

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution or 3+ years of experience in similar role
