This is the role where great customer & business outcomes come together! We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Performance Specialist, reporting to the Manager: Performance and forming part of our extended leadership team.
As the Operations Performance Specialist you will be at the centre of our operations performance team, reporting on all elements of the Wellington Metro rail network. Youâll be the gate keeper of our performance and leader of continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is full time working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday; however you will have flexibility with how those hours are set. Some of our people begin early, some stay later, and hybrid working is an option too.
Key accountabilities include:
- Compiling, generating, and reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports and distributing to relevant stakeholders and chair the weekly performance council meetings.
- Working through train performance failures and their reasons and litigating with responsible stakeholders.
- Identify efficiency gains in business processes by conducting process reviews, establishing pilots and provide analysis to enable improved operational efficiencies
- Analysing operational performance and trends in the business environment to support strategic and operational planning. This includes analysis related to network planning, timetable changes, improvement of service reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Provide concise written and verbal summaries of pilots and efficiency gains.
- Embed new change initiatives and support managers on how to effectively embed to ensure change is delivered.
- Proactively develop and maintain consultative and productive working relationships within Transdev as well as key stakeholders, working collaboratively to achieve best for business outcomes.
- Transition current reporting processes and procedures to incorporate into the Global Transdev group.
- Drive the Implementation of Power BI end to end and become the product owner and subject matter expert upon implementation. This extends to any future upgrades to Power BI.
- Project manage new COMPASS enhancements

Youâre are an advocate for automation, improvement & change. Technically minded with the ability to communicate data to a wide range of stakeholders. You have proven analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to analyse large amounts of information and clearly articulate issues, root cause and solutions, taking a data and fact-based approach to determine the solution.
We need someone who has fresh ideas, is incredibly proactive by nature with the ability to ask the right questions and liaise with the right people to deliver results. Stakeholder management is key and you will be an required to think and act at a leadership level.
Youâll also have:
Strong understanding of the Wellington Rail network and its associated intricacies or demonstrated ability to learn and understand a similar operational business quickly
Ability to facilitate, implement and manage business process architecture and management systems together with the associated corporate business systems and governance processes.
Ability to utilise a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel skills across multiple business systems
Demonstrated ability to solve problems proactively within established business process management systems and achieve the highest possible performance and outcomes from these systems through continuous performance diagnosis and improvement
Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects on business process improvement initiatives to deliver on agreed performance outcomes.
