Te Matatini Enterprises is the commercial arm of Aotearoa’s national kapa haka organisation, Te Matatini, that operates with social intent and charitable purpose. They manage the intellectual property of key national, international and regional events as well as negotiating the commercial terms of broadcast for these events. Alongside this, they are focussed on business growth, capacity and capability building, improving operational functions, and diversifying service and product offerings.
Mō te tūranga | About the Role:
Te Matatini Enterprises is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the value of their brand, expand their network of partners and increase revenue streams ensuring their long-term sustainability and growth. This role will identify new opportunities and foster strategic relationships particularly within government, with business and the community that align with their cultural values and aspirations to support their initiatives.
As this is a new position, you’ll make this role your own and contribute to what it looks like into the future. This is a fulltime, permanent role based in Auckland (negotiable) offering a competitive base salary and commission structure.

As an experienced Business Development Manager, you’ll have a passion for growing the value of brand and a track record of increasing investment through strategic partnerships. You’ll have well established networks within government, community and the business sectors with the ability to leverage these connections to drive partnerships and secure funding opportunities. You’ll have demonstrated ability to seek, explore and secure diverse revenue streams. Your understanding of te ao Māori will be your point of difference and will allow you to use your skills and experience to successfully develop and implement business development strategies that align with Te Matatini Enterprises cultural values and aspirations.
