TRL11 Looking for Junior Embedded Software Engineer at Irvine, CA Full Time

TRL11 is a venture backed startup looking to bring cutting edge video technology to the space economy. We are based in Irvine, CA.

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Embedded Software Engineer with experience in developing and integrating embedded web servers into embedded systems. As a member of our software development team, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and testing embedded software solutions for our products.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain embedded software for various projects, with a focus on integrating web server functionality to monitor and control the embedded systems over a network.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, to define software requirements and specifications.
• Design and implement efficient and reliable embedded software solutions, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Integrate web server functionality into embedded systems, enabling remote monitoring, configuration, and control.
• Perform unit testing and debugging of embedded software to ensure high-quality.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in embedded software development and web server technologies.
• Document software designs, requirements, and test procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain software quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of embedded systems and embedded software development concepts.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
• Experience in developing and integrating web server functionality into embedded systems.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP networking protocols and web technologies (HTTP, REST, WebSocket, etc.).
• Knowledge of microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Understanding of software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with embedded Linux and related toolchains.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of security concepts and practices in embedded systems.
• Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with software development tools, such as debuggers, compilers, and IDEs.
• Knowledge of wireless communication protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
