REPORTS TO: Plant Manager, Sherwood Park Mill
LOCATION: Sherwood Park, AB
Immediate hiring. Multiple openings are available for this position.
No experience? No problem, we will train. Must be able to do shift work.
POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Bagger Operator is responsible for the day-to-day activities as part of the Production team. The Bagger Operator is expected to conduct all matters in a manner consistent with the company’s Corporate Values of Innovation, Caring, Capable, and Collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure finished feed is sampled and inspected
Complete bags with correct product tag in a timely manner
Verify correct Lot #s are pulled for order requirements (sampling process)
Ensure accurate bag weight/run size is produced
Constant quality awareness
Place correct lot number on finished bags
Complete log documentation as required
Housekeeping
Adhere to the safety and food safety requirements per the company protocols
Complete food safety documentation
Ensure orders are completed accurately to customer’s ordered requirements
Work with all employees to maintain integrity of the company standards
Maintain courteous and professional relationship with customers
Proactive in ensuring a positive customer experience
Other duties as required
PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:
Grade 12 or equivalent
2-3 yrs. experience in a mill or warehouse preferred
Strong, problem solving and decision making abilities
Able to work in a fast paced environment, multi-task, and under tight deadlines
A positive attitude
Collaboration, good communication skills (written and verbal), high learning capacity, high level of integrity, act like an owner / entrepreneurial, focus on continuous improvement, team oriented, show respect, be coachable.
Must be passionate about your career.
Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly bend and twist, open and close lids, climb ladders, and lift 5 pounds.
Physical Work Conditions: Often exposed to loud sounds, distracting noise levels, and dusty environment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Full Time; Permanent.
