TVNZ Looking for Legal Counsel at Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Full Time

We’re auditioning now for a Legal Counsel reporting to the General Counsel to join our TVNZ Legal team on a 6 month fixed-term contract.

Your Key Accountabilities Will Include

• Proactively managing TVNZ’s legal risk, and advising on compliance with relevant legislation and commercial contracts, with a digital focus.
• Providing advice to your allocated business areas, and proactively empowering TVNZ people to recognise and mitigate legal risk, with consideration to TVNZ’s strategies and objectives.
• Confidently prioritise workload and manage client expectations to deliver high quality results.
• Actively contribute to developing and maintaining a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration across TVNZ and the Legal Team.

It is a part time role for 32 hours a week.

What we’re looking for – Tā mātou e kimi nei

You’ll have at least one year’s experience as an in-house lawyer advising on litigation, privacy and intellectual property law matters. You’ll be an approachable team-player with sound commercial judgment, and have a collaborative, creative and solutions-focused approach. You’ll have effective communication skills, and enjoy solving challenges in an evolving business that welcomes the views of its lawyers.
