The Director of Strategy is a key role leading critical strategic
initiatives, strategy development, strategic planning, competitive
insights, and performance management at Tyson Foods. Reporting to the
Vice president of Corporate Strategy, this role will lead and support
top priority initiatives on the agenda of Senior Management and will
require regular interaction with senior leadership, corporate strategy,
and cross-functional team members across the company. This role is
expected to be able to independently lead strategy development and key
initiatives across a range of markets and categories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead top priority strategic projects across the business, including
  but not limited to opportunity assessment in strategic segments
  (white/emerging spaces), business improvement projects, strategic
  question evaluation
• Lead organic/inorganic strategy and strategic plan development, and
  inform resource allocation decisions
• In partnership with Corporate Finance & M&A team, identify and
  evaluate M&A opportunities playing a lead role in pressure-testing
  for strategic affinity
• Lead strategy optimization for the business
• Lead strategic planning process, partner with Finance & Corporate
  Strategy to support deliverables/milestones
• Guide prioritization, value quantification and identification of
  resource requirements for opportunities and focus areas across the
  portfolio and ensure balance with the growth agenda. Balance focus
  on delivering current year and identifying further out opportunities
• Effectively work across the organization to build support and buy-in
  to key opportunities
• Develop strategy communication and performance narratives for the
  business and Tyson Senior Leadership

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly
preferred.

Background and experience: 10 years of experience required. The
successful candidate will have a combined 3-5 years of experience in
strategy with a top strategy consulting firm (traditionally senior
associate level or higher) and/or in strategy within a high-performing
multi-national organization. Ideal experience in the poultry, beef or
pork agriculture financial analyst, CPG or Food & Beverage industries.

Key capabilities and skills:

• Significant knowledge of manufacturing or commodities industry,
  including an understanding of product features and business levers
  is required
• Impact-focused forward-thinking orientation is required for success
  in this role. Other key experience includes exceptional analytic and
  hypothesis-driven problem-solving skills
• Ability to structure approaches and formulate insights around
  complex business problems. Ability to develop creative solutions and
  new approaches to address business issues
• Relationship-building orientation and strong influencing skills.
  High level of ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Highly motivated
  and self-directed. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  manage multiple priorities and make ongoing decisions.
• Strong project management organization and analytical skills

Travel: domestic and international, as required by the business. Up
to 20-30% of time

This position is based in Tyson Food’s World Headquarters in
Springdale, AR
