UC Davis Hiring for Research Assistant at Davis, CA Full Time

DESCRIPTION:

The Liu Lab in the Dept. of Neurology at the UC Davis is seeking undergarduates of year 3 or 4 who are interested in resarch. These positions will be paid at range of $15.00-15.50/hour (https://www.hr.ucdavis.edu/news/minimum-wage-increase-student-assistants-effective-jan-1-2022).

Successful candidates are expected to participate in an NIH-funded research program that leverages cancer elements, such as oncogenes (e.g., Src, Cdk) or tumor suppressor miRNAs (e.g., miR-122, miR-125b), to develop new drugs for treatment of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The successful candidates will be required to conduct experiments, such as animal surgery (i.e., controlled cortical impact model, fluid percussion model), animal behavioral measurements, histological staining, and others. They have opportunities to serve as co-authors of the publications and attend scientific conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergradudate students in Animal Science, Biology, or related fields.
Quick learning and strong passion for research.
