Responsibilities
As the Organizational Effectiveness Lead for UCLA Health IT, you will lead organizational development efforts for 900+ IT employees. You will provide expert level guidance and direction on initiatives and programs with organization-wide impact, and you will be responsible for administering in-house programs and solutions in support of the UCLA Health IT Strategic Plan and Best Place to Work initiative. In addition, you will lead employee engagement efforts for onsite, hybrid, and remote workers in alignment with our Teleflex initiative, and you will have the opportunity to design and lead our Career Pathing program, designing career pathways and supporting and coaching managers and employees to promote the full complement of employee development strategies. In partnering with organizational leadership and UCLA Health HR, you will develop effective tactics for improving recruitment and retention and serve as a department resource for retreats and team facilitation, and lead department-wide training efforts. You will also develop mentoring strategies and programs for employee development and internal growth, some of which include leading the Health IT women’s resource group (WITHU), and guiding and supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) efforts within the department, including best practices for EDI in regards to recruitment.
This role will also be instrumental in guiding and facilitating discussions around communications, team building, trust, EDI, and other topics that create conflict for teams. You will serve as an expert resource and recommend and administer professional development assessments and provide one-on-one coaching for success. You will organize and schedule trainings with outside vendors from proposal stage to execution in collaboration with the OER system and Health IT Finance, and liaison with technical training vendors and Health IT employees to ensure that funding is available to fulfill annual goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, in HR, Org Development, Business, or related business field desired, or equivalent years of relevant work experience
5+ years of experience guiding organizations in strategic workforce planning, organization design, professional development, people analytics, change management, group dynamics and team effectiveness, and organization design
Use and familiarity with multiple change, team building, strategy, succession planning and competency models
Ability to align organization, division & department initiatives in concert with leadership development to create and implement a vision of culture change in a systemic way
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to organize and present information concisely to executive leaders, clearly articulate objectives, and influence outcomes
Knowledge of Human Resources and/or Organizational Consulting policies and practices
Knowledge of administrative processes and process development
Knowledge of University environment financial and accounting policies
Skill in establishing working relationships with individuals at a variety of levels and leading project teams
Skill at negotiating, exchanging ideas, information and opinions with others to arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions and solutions
Ability to define problems, recognize various alternatives and formulate logical conclusions
