You will be responsible for the execution and management of strategies to achieve our goal of becoming a transformative, high-reliability organization with an uncompromising focus on patient safety and outcomes. This will involve facilitating patient safety and quality improvement initiatives and coordinating systematic implementation of practices designed to reduce error and improve patient outcomes. You will foster a non-punitive culture of continuous learning and improvement by reviewing safety events, identifying trends in near-miss and actual events, and using Lean methodologies to identify trends of contributing factors in events. You will serve as a resource on patient safety as you educate teams and encourage reporting of actual and near-miss events. In collaboration with system leadership, you will oversee root cause analysis and work to ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored. You will drive the completion of Failure Mode Effects Analysis as well as manage our good-catch recognition program. You will also supervise patient safety staff and department operations.
Salary Range: $105,200 – $250,600/annuallyQualifications
We’re seeking a self-motivated, results-driven strategic thinker with:
Active California RN license
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other healthcare profession
Three or more years of experience in patient safety
Two or more years of increasingly responsible leadership experience in patient safety or quality improvement
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
Sound judgment and strong decision-making abilities
A passion for quality and safety
Experience facilitating clinical quality improvement teams
Background in consulting, coaching, and mentoring clinicians and management in quality management and performance improvement
Expertise in data management, including statistical and medical data
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
In-depth involvement with national and regional healthcare organizations
