As one of UMB’s commercial lending verticals, the team is responsible for growing the Asset Based Lending loan portfolio, and selling other related revenue generating services to clients. The team is made up of Business Development Officers (Originators), Underwriters, Client Managers, Collateral Analysts and Field Examiners. This team manages Asset Based Loans throughout its life cycle – developing meaningful connections with leadership of the companies they serve. Always mindful of the changes in the company, its industry, etc., over time that might create a change in their financial service needs.
Working as the Field Examiner, you will be responsible to help protect the assets of UMB Bank n.a., by assessing lending risk levels extended to its customer base. You will provide the company’s front line defense against fraud in our business transactions. You will conduct collateral exams on existing customer to identify collateral issues, to note any changes in the business, and to assess that the customer remains compliant to ensure the loan is performing to the standards to which it’s been underwritten. You will prepare written recommendations for any additional reserves pointing out and identifying any additional strengths and weaknesses in the business you are examining. You will independently conduct survey exams on new client prospects, and make recommendations to senior UMB management regarding the prospect company and recommending any changes to the proposed structure of the loan. With regard to continuing education, you will attend field exam training courses. Periodically, you will attend portfolio review meetings for regional office to better understand the complexities of the clients we are assisting. You will also be asked to create forms, systems, and processes necessary to maintain files and improve operational efficiency throughout the department. If you have 1 years of field exam experience within asset based lending (ABL) or related industry experience.
If you have demonstrated ability to work directly with clients with tact and diplomacy, and the ability to make independent, sound judgements, decisions and have an understanding of how decisions affect business lines and organizations as a whole with your exam findings.
