Position: Data Quality Specialist

Department: SC 211 Services

Reports to: Caleb Goodrum – Manager of Data Quality and Engagement

Service Term: Part-Time/Seasonal Work

Position Summary: The Resource Associate isresponsible for maintaining and enhancing the South Carolina 211 database as assigned by region and category. This position will work in coordination with the 211 team to update records, audit quality, standardize data fields, and strategically add/remove records as appropriate.

Essential Functions:

Resource Database

• Provide routine maintenance and official updates in the 211 database
• Communicate with service agencies via telephone, email, and web platforms
• Curate new resource data that meet 211’s inclusion/exclusion policy and best practices
• Ensure database remains current, accurate, and useful to all appropriate stakeholders
• Improve access, ease of use, and effectiveness of the 211 platform through resource data enrichment, product development, information management, and other strategies
• Coordinate with the 211 Team Staff to measure community trends, improve referral outcomes, deliver actionable reporting, and ensure the 211 database remains responsive to all needs in the community

Related Activities

• Enter/correct data fields to reflect approved styles, structure, and other best data practices
• Participate in virtual meetings, trainings, and other remote activities as requested
• Work in coordination with the 211 team to develop and improve 211 Services

Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide advocacy (as assigned) for 211 users seeking resources in the community
• Share ideas and provide input to help United Way respond to the unique needs of the community
• Engage in team meetings
• Maintain strict customer, staff and partner confidentiality for all personal information and documentation
• Perform other duties as assigned by UWASC

Required Skills:

• Effectively and appropriately communicate with staff, partners, and other stakeholders
• Demonstrate and maintain proficiency in all 211 technologies required to perform duties
• Clearly communicate the 211 and United Way Mission with a variety of community stakeholders
• Ability to quickly learn Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) standards of data management and community referral practices
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities to achieve expected outcomes
• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquires or complaints
• Ability to interpret instructions in a variety of forms
