The A Side: A Day in The Life

It’s never been easier to access music of all types. The range of songs that make people happy has never been broader. This also means it’s essential that we have the correct arrangements in place to make sure our artists and labels get paid when their recordings are played. The Global Revenue Royalty Optimization department exists to do the work necessary to make this happen.

Our Admin Assistant role is in the Global Rights and Society Relations team which is also known as Neighbouring Rights. This is the part of the team specialising in radio, TV, and public performance such as clubs and retail. This is an entry level role for someone looking to build up great results over time. By taking care to deliver complex and varied requirements today, you will ensure that our artists and labels get paid for years to come. Resilience is key as this is a global business and the admin requirements for each country are different and change over time. In return you’ll learn a lot about a central part of the music industry, picking up lots of knowledge on copyright, royalties and how the music industry is structured. The B Side: Skills & Experience

Be Organised

• Affiliating artist clients with all neighbouring rights CMOs in the territories we have been asked to represent the client. This involves creating paperwork, controlling the delivery of the paperwork, monitoring the status globally and notifying the Client Account Manager of progress
• Registering 3rd party label clients with all neighbouring rights MLC’s in the territories we have been asked to represent the client. This also involves creating paperwork, controlling the delivery of the paperwork, monitoring the status globally and notifying the Client Account Manager of progress
• Ongoing administration on behalf of artist and label clients, this includes but is not limited to, registering catalogues and new releases for selected label clients; and making claims, solving double claims & completing tax documents in line with the global society schedules for all clients, notifying progress to the Director of Operations
• Maintaining information about label and artist societies in the neighbouring rights knowledge base
• Maintaining status boards in Monday.com to ensure Management Reports are accurate
• Other ad-hoc duties as and when required

Be Analytical

• Collation of performer discography data, including evidence as required
• Processing of incoming royalty statements and payments from societies on a timely basis, working with Snr Director, Business Analysis and Finance to ensure accuracy and providing a full audit trail of payments. This will require an eye for detail and the ability to accurately manipulate data

Be Collaborative

• Onboarding artist and label clients to UMNR by ensuring all documents and other information that are required are obtained from the client and stored securely. This will require communication with client representatives in a professional and timely manner
• Attending internal and external meetings on behalf of UMNR
• Communicating with client representatives and societies in a professional and timely manner, escalating any concerns to Director of Operations
• Working alongside 3rd party administration service teams as required

Person Specification

Necessary

• Proficient level of English
• Excel, Word and Outlook skills
• Team player, able to work alongside a variety of people at different levels both inside and outside the organisation
• Ability to focus and organise own work without distraction to exceed deadlines

Desirable

• A demonstratable love of music
• Prior experience of Neighbouring Rights, other copyrights or royalties
• Additional languages
• Use of Monday.com and Sharepoint to organise work
• A-level equivalent and above
• Proven track record in an office environment (including remote working)
