The Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health (PCPH) delivers high quality teaching, alongside a programme of internationally competitive multi-disciplinary research addressing the management and prevention of disease in individuals and populations in areas which are of priority to the health of the public.
PCPH has a well-established and excellent Primary Care Medical Education team. Academics and professional services staff contribute to the co-ordination, design and delivery of approximately 15% of the medical school MBBS course. We have a positive, collaborative and scholarly approach to our design, delivery and assessment, fore fronting the experiences of students and patients. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical academic GP with a strong profile and interest in teaching.
As Associate Clinical Lecturer you will lead the MBBS Dermatology in Primary Care teaching programme, early Years primary care teaching and Student Selected Components (SCCs). You will have and active role in overall MBBS teaching delivery, design, and assessments. You will be required to retain clinical activity in general practice alongside this role.
This is a maternity cover fixed term post at 50% FTE available for 12 months in the first instance available from 6th April 2023.
The salary is between £39,254 – £52,918 per annum (inclusive of London Allowance and will be pro rata for part time staff).
In addition there is a market supplement to bring the salary up to £83,927 per annum (includes London allowance and will be pro rata).
Salary on appointment is subject to experience.
As Associate Clinical Lecturer you will join a thriving, dynamic primary care medical education team. You will work with a team of colleagues to deliver the outlined programmes. You will be committed to contribution to overall primary care MBBS teaching design, delivery, and assessment. The post-holder will also be supported to continue and develop engagement in their primary care clinical education scholarship.
We are looking for a practicing GP with enthusiasm and a keen interest in primary care medical education. The post-holder will have some experience with organising and delivering teaching. The post-holder should be organised, work to deadlines and keen and able to work in a multidisciplinary team
