The department of Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment is a world-leading centre for economics, geography, business, mathematics, science and humanities education. A core strength of the Department is in the study, support and improvement of pedagogy, curriculum and assessment through multidisciplinary programmes. The Department hosts top-rated initial teacher education programmes, incorporating Secondary PGCE, School Direct and Teach First, innovative Masters programmes and a wide range of continuing professional development courses.
This is an exciting opportunity for an appropriately experienced individual to become part of the Education team. The MA in Education programme team are currently developing a range of initiatives to ensure we meet the needs of our students in an ever changing global context. To support these developments, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic academic who will contribute to an established and successful MA in Education in nurturing future leaders in teaching and research in the field.
The postholder will be commitment to the aims of the programme in providing personal and academic tutoring, contributing to the compulsory modules and dissertation supervision. You will be joining a team that works collaboratively, meets regularly to discuss developments, and you will be involved in creating opportunities and new initiatives. In addition, you are committed to providing ongoing collegial support for teaching and dissertation supervision on the programme.
You will teach, supervise and lead on courses offered by UCL Institute of Education. You will be fully aware and at the forefront of national developments in learning and teaching methodologies in the classroom. You will be assisting with student recruitment across the programme areas. In addition, you will contribute to academic policy and planning at Department, programme and Institute levels, and to gain research funding and successfully lead on research projects in education.

The postholder will have a doctoral degree in an area relevant to Education. We will also consider exceptional doctoral candidates who are nearing completion and able to demonstrate contribution to their field through publication or other relevant activities. You will either have teaching experience in schools with the potential to teach successfully at higher education level, or experience of working effectively in higher education itself.
