Duties and Responsibilities
UCL Student Support and Wellbeing Services (SSW) provide information, advice and welfare support for all registered students, including delivery of related student events: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/srs/our-services/student-support-and-wellbeing
The Student Support and Wellbeing Manager (Mental Health and Wellbeing) role provides leadership, management and effective operation of the mental health and wellbeing support provision for UCL students. They manage a team of skilled professionals who deliver non-therapeutic support, provide advice and guidance to students and respond to student of concern matters within the UCL community.
Key Requirements
The postholder will ensure the effective operation of the mental health and wellbeing support provision for UCL students. They will be experienced in managing a large team and remain calm in stressful situations. They will have in depth knowledge of mental health presentations and treatment/referral options. They will be experienced in managing complex student cases and ensure the smooth running of processes such as student of concern and return to study.
The post holder with work closely with colleagues in Student Support and Wellbeing and across the UCL community to promote understanding of inclusive practice, disability, and wellbeing issues. They will have full understanding and demonstrate best practice in safeguarding. They will work using their own initiative in a self-directed manner.
