Position: Consultant, Librarian
Organization: Canadian Partnership Against Cancer
Location: Hybrid/Remote – The Partnership’s head office is in downtown Toronto. Candidates can work anywhere in Canada with the expectation to travel to the head office approximately on occasion.
Status: Full Time, 12 month fixed term contract
Job Level: $80 – $100 per hour
Compensation offered will be based on an assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, while ensuring internal equity.

The Partnership’s Cancer Systems, Performance and Innovation (CPSI) Division drives improvements in Canada’s cancer system through data, research, economic modelling and innovations such as digital healthcare. This division monitors emerging health technologies and leverages data systems to determine gaps and opportunities for improvements in cancer care and informs internal partners on innovative approaches, international best practice and compelling evidence to support key partnership decision making.
The Research and Innovation team, part of the CPSI division, promotes cancer research across Canada as well as driving the adoption of innovative approaches. It supports this work through its role as the Executive Office of the Canadian Cancer Research Alliance (CCRA) and its activities scanning international and academic best practice.
Overview of Role
The Librarian, Research and Innovation supports the Cancer Systems, Performance & Innovation (CSPI) Division in carrying out projects and initiatives to achieve organizational priorities. Reporting to the Manager, Research and Innovation, the Librarian provides information management, training, and support so staff can best achieve organizational objectives.
As a highly organized professional with strong time management skills, this position delivers on the tasks of the job while contributing to CPAC’s overall vision to reduce the burden of cancer on all Canadians.
The Research and Innovation team, part of the CSPI division, promotes cancer research across Canada as well as driving the adoption of innovative approaches. It supports this work through its role as the Executive Office of the Canadian Cancer Research Alliance (CCRA) and its activities scanning international and academic best practice.
The Research and Innovation team’s Evidence Services function supports the work of teams in scoping, creating, procuring, managing, and assessing evidence. The Librarian will work closely with Evidence Services to ensure the Partnership provides equitable and efficient access to information and training for all staff.
An equitable cancer system is fundamental to improving cancer care in Canada and around the world. Equity is embedded in the ultimate outcomes of the 2019-2029 Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control and improving health equity in cancer care is a high priority for the Partnership.
