Campus & Community Recreation is the host of multiple wellness activities and events that run throughout the University of Alberta campus. This includes recreational events and programs that are available at South Campus as well as North Campus.
Campus & Community Recreation offers programs and facilities aimed to meet the needs and interests of the broad range of communities that we serve. From group exercise to individualized personal training; from healthy living activities to physical assessments preparing for specific work environments; from recreational sports to elite sports training; and a range of ethnic and cultural dance, Campus & Community Recreation has the breadth and depth of activities to enhance the experiences of students, staff and community members alike
The role of Campus & Community Recreation is to contribute to the overall academic vision of the university. We support our communities (students, staff, faculty, and community members) to explore and enhance their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being through physical and social activity. We strongly believe in the power of recreational activities to support these needs.
Campus & Community Recreation has two facilities on the University of Alberta South Campus – Foote Field and the Saville Community Sports Centre (East and West). Foote Field features competition-level artificial turf, track, and grass field, as well as a multi-use plaza, conference room, and lounge space. East facilities feature a curling rink (10 sheets) , tennis courts (8 courts), fitness centre, bar and lounge, sports performance centre, and various multi-purpose spaces. West facilities feature nine gymnasiums, a competition gym, a gymnastics centre, a fitness studio, classrooms and food, and beverage services. The sports and recreation facilities on the south campus experience over 3.4 million visits per year.
Position Summary
The Campus & Community Recreation unit is currently seeking a Customer Service Coordinator located on South Campus. The Customer Service team administers over $6.5 million in transactions and is a high volume area (open for 106+ hours a week of customer service) that also provides information on sporting and recreational events, recreational programs, memberships, facilities and services and online access to service units. This position involves providing customer service for all areas within Campus & Community Recreation, the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation (KSR) and the Steadward Centre conduct financial transactions through the Recreation Management Software system as part of their daily operations; such as registrations, memberships, ticket sales, and rental contracts. The Customer Service Coordinator provides support to the daily financial operations by handling front-line customer service issues, maintaining client expectations and processing financial transactions. There is an expectation to be a contributing member of the Campus & Community Recreation team by providing recommendations for department-wide communication and administrative activities.
