We’re seeking a Technical assistant to join our busy research unit at our leading Faculty of Medical & Health Science, where ground-breaking research is carried out every day.

Our ideal candidate

• Would be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the equipment i.e. cage washer, autoclaves, sanitising equipment, and bedding dispenser.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly working environment throughout the relevant area of the facility.
• Removing animal waste from cages and processing through the relevant waste disposal stream.
• Collection and transportation of goods from designated areas within the university.
• Assisting with undertaking laundry requirements of the facility
• Excellent communication skills are a must, as you will be required to work both independently and seamlessly as part of a busy team.
• Physically fit with the ability to learn and develop skills.
• Previous experience in a similar role is not essential as full training will be given but is an advantageous

If you have experience working in a cattery, kennels, or have some farm assistant experience which includes cleaning animal cages this could be a good fit for you.

This is a fulltime permanent role starting from 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

The salary for this role is Circa $50K negotiable on experience.
