Required Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: One year of experience in archives and special collections.
Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and
abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education
or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year
of experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Education: Interdisciplinary coursework in the humanities, arts, and design
Experience: Leadership roles and management experience in team-based workplaces. Experience in university archives or academic library special collections. Demonstrated results in improving access to archival collections through minimal processing, inventory control, and stacks management projects. Experience with ArchivesSpace and Aeon for collection management.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Applied knowledge of collection management workflows in special collections and archives. Excellent
organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated service orientation, attention
to detail, and ability to work in a collaborative environment. Computer skills, including word processing,
data entry, and relational databases. Ability and willingness to learn specialized technical processes or
digital tools specific to the department. Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 pounds while standing on
a ladder. Ability and willingness to work for extended periods in collection storage and processing
environments. Demonstrated ability to consistently meet project deadlines and metrics for
output/results.
