The Health & Counseling Center (HCC) is a fully integrated,
on-campus, accredited college health center that provides a wide range of
medical and mental health services. The University of Denver is deeply

Promotion – Mental Health who possesses cultural humility and a strong
understanding of systems of oppression and can integrate those perspective
into all their work. This position works in the Health Promotion unit at the
HC
The mission of the HCC is to enhance overall student well-being and success
through inclusive physical and mental healthcare, prevention, education,
advocacy, and recovery support services. Most shifts are from 8:00 am to
5:00 pm, with occasional shifts from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Physicians, nurses, psychologists, nurse practitioners, physician
assistants, and other health professionals staff the HCC. All students
enrolled for academic credit (full-time or part-time, undergraduate, or
graduat
Health Promotion cultivates a thriving University of Denver (DU) community
through engagement, education, and sociocultural change. Health Promotion
provides educational outreach programs such as events and workshops awareness
campaigns, and resources to help DU students make success-oriented decisions
related to mental health, alcohol and other drugs, gender violence
prevention, sexual health, and other dimensions of well-being. Health
Promotion also advocates for a broader sociocultural environment that supports
health and well-being. The Health Promotion team includes professionals,
graduate fellows, and undergraduate peer educators.

Position Summary
The Coordinator of Health Promotion works as part of the HCC Health Promotion
team and is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating high
quality suicide prevention and mental health promotion initiatives that meet
the needs of the diverse DU student community.
Essential Functions
Program Development, Implementation, and Evaluation
* Develop, implement, and evaluate individual and community-level health
promotion initiatives, including educational outreach programs, awareness
campaigns, services, and materials to address suicide prevention, mental
health, and other health and well-being topics as needed.
* Conduct needs assessment activities and utilize evidence-based practices to
inform initiatives.
* Integrate principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all
initiatives.
* Develop and utilize learning outcomes and assessment tools for all
initiatives.
Student Leadership Development
* Hire, train, and supervise graduate intern(s).
* Train undergraduate peer educators in mental health knowledge and skills.
* Collaborate with undergraduate peer educators and other student leaders on
mental health promotion initiatives.
Outreach
* Initiate campus and community partnerships to expand the scope and impact
of health promotion efforts.
* Provide health promotion workshops, outreach, and trainings that meet
the needs of diverse student, staff, and faculty groups.
* Represent the Health and Counseling Center and Health Promotion on campus
and community coalitions as assigned.
Other Duties As Assigned
This position is housed in Health Promotion and reports to the Director of
Health Promotion. This is a full-time, benefited position. It requires
periodic evening and weekend hours.
